Proof of ownership — what we accept

Indenture, allocation letter, lease, or a signed letting authority. Plus your Ghana Card.

Verified listings rank higher and convert better — buyers and tenants trust them more. The verification check is light-touch and human-reviewed, but you do need to upload the right paperwork.

What we accept as proof of ownership

  • Indenture or assignment — registered with the Lands Commission. The most common owner document.
  • Allocation letter — from a chief, paramount stool, or government scheme, if your tenure is at that stage.
  • Title certificate — if you've completed the title-registration process (less common in practice).
  • Letting authority — a signed letter from the registered owner authorising you to list and let on their behalf. Required for managing agents.
  • Lease agreement — if you're a tenant subletting with the landlord's written permission.

What we don't accept

  • A receipt for a deposit on land (proves a transaction, not ownership).
  • A power of attorney without underlying ownership documents.
  • Photographs of documents that are unclear, partially visible, or watermarked.

What you'll also need

  • Your Ghana Card for identity verification.
  • Your TIN if you list multiple properties.

How long it takes

The Habivista trust team reviews uploads within 24 working hours. If something's missing, you get an email within that window asking for the right document.
